Who’d have them ?

kidsvsdogsAt a certain age, kids and dogs are equally cute.

Then the kids become teenagers!!!

Having shared our home with a numerous dogs and 2 kids (Thankfully, the latter have now moved out), I am in a position to compare the two species.

The dogs are always delighted when I come home from work.

The kids – in so far as they deigned to acknowledge my presence at all – would greet me with a kind of grunting noise.

The dogs have always given unconditional love. They have never answered me back, criticised my dress sense or my taste in music.

Unlike the kids, the dogs never got stroppy/moody in their teenage years.

Again, none of our dogs have ever been in to playing loud music with a thumping bass beat at 2am in the morning.

Nor have the dogs ever borrowed my car and left it with only a teaspoon of petrol in the tank.

Having given the matter careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that I prefer dogs to kids any time (Mrs D, however, may have a contrary opinion!)

There was me trying to be clever and use the WordPress schedule function to put this post up automatically at 1 minute past midnight tonight and here I’ve gone and messed it up

Oh well – don’t suppose you could pretend you haven’t seen it?
