Decisions, decisions . . .

DROOPY_cig-300When I first thought up this scheme to augment our household finances, I initially cast myself in the leading role. However, while the spirit is still strong, the flesh is decidedly weak –

I’ve often wondered if Mrs D is behind all these emails I receive offering me cheap Viagra tabs ?

It was with regret, therefore, that I had to concede that, if the primary objective was pecuniary rather than pleasure, then of the two of us, Mrs D had the greater earning capacity.

As yet, I have not apprised Mrs D of the lucrative new career opportunity awaiting her. The idea is still at the developmental stage. I am currently doing some market research (at our local pub) to determine the level of interest, customer profile, etc, and working on a pricing structure. With the Holiday season upon us I am thinking of offering special Xmas deals – buy one get one free, special discounts for OAPs, or parties of 6 or more, buy now pay in 12 months time (I’m not so sure about that last one!).

I’m sure there’s some mileage in this plan. I get some extra beer money. Mrs D gets the chance to get out of the house more and get some exercise. In short, everyone wins!

P.S. I know what some of you are thinking – male chauvinist pig !

I’m right, amn’t I ?

Well you’re wrong.

As it happens, I’m not relying solely on Mrs D to augment our family income. I’ve decided to do my bit and have got myself a part-time job. It’s not that well-paid, is strictly seasonal – but it does have a few perks!

‘pig’ is probably one of the most mild-mannered epithets Mrs D has used to describe me,when in one of her fractious moods !!! 😉

I’m stuck on that first pic. It reminds me of Mr. YnB’s mum who could smoke a cig, never flick the ashes, and they would hold on just as in this pic!

I thought modern santas weren’t even allowed to touch their visitors let alone get a ‘andful?

      Odd, isn’t it !

For most of the year we stress to our kids the importance of NOT accepting sweeties or any other present from a strange man. Then come Xmas time we positively encourage them to do so. More than that – we actively encourage them to sit in a strange man’s lap !!!

I see what your part time position will be – but what will Mrs. D’s be?
