Silly Cow!!!

September 23, 2009

22nd Apr 2007

Mrs D received a letter Friday morning from the Hospital. They are holding an appointment for her to see a specialist in the Respiratory Dept. on the 30th April.

While we were digesting this news and it’s implications, our GP’s Secretary phoned asking Mrs D to call round later in the day to discuss the results of her scan

gpatdesk300It was not good news, and confirmed our fears.

The scans show a large ’shadow’ on Mrs D’s right lung and a smaller one on the left, and while it was not possible – in the absence of a biopsy – to say it is definitely cancer, given Mrs D’s age and her lifetime of smoking, cancer is the most likely explanation.

Spent the rest of Friday crying and drinking booze.

Saturday – the same.

We’ll find out a week tomorrow from the Consultants at the hospital what stage the cancer is at; what the treatment options are (if any); and how much time she may have left.

I wish to hell the ’silly cow’ had packed up smoking years ago – and I wish I could bloody well stop crying at the thought of losing her.
